I feel like the whole time I was at the Denver Aquarium I was singing the Little Mermaid song. I surely thought that this would be a good environment for me to take some good photos. I was a little disappointed. It's really hard to take pictures in that environment but that was easy to just chalk up to inexperience. I was really upset that almost all of the plants were fake!

These are my people
I've very fortune that my family is still very close. I am 23 and still have three grandparents, all of which I am close to and are (knock on wood) in good health. As different as all of us are, we all can sit in a room and enjoy each others company. I love it.
A little over a week ago, my grandma turned the big 80! Amazing. The whole gang, minus 6, was there to celebrate. 22 of us went and ate lunch at the Denver Aquarium.
Here are a few of the snapshots from the shin dig.

All so very new...
I've struggled over the last several years which who I am, what I've become, why things happen the way they happen. Everytime I think I am on the right path I get jolted back to a reality that wasn't what I thought it was. One thing that has always stuck with me since early high school was photography. It is something that I put down from time to time and then look into again and then push away because I was either afraid, uncommitted, or couldn't afford it.
Well, not that I can afford it now, but I need something in my life to keep me going on a personal level that my husband and son can encourage me with but that still stays mine. So three weeks ago I took the plunge. I bought a Canon Rebel T2i and a 50mm f/1.8 lense along with Adobe Photoshop Elements 8 and a year subsciption to picnik.com.
So far its been touch and go. I've tried numerous things but the only subjects I have used are my son, Dawson, and my sister, Leah. I did take the camera to the Denver Aquarium and took a TON of photographs that proved I have a LONG way to go. But for now, I'm playing as much as I can and I am enjoying it. Now the goal is to find more time to practice my craft.
I know it is early to name a "company" but I wanted something that I could identify my efforts with. I threw around all sorts of names I could use. Traditionally I think people use a lot of cliche photography terms or their names for their photography efforts. This was just a little bland for me. I love that my initials rhyme though, so for now I'm going with LD Photography. It all rhymes and I think I love it.
So bare with me as this is all super new to me. I will try to keep this updated as to my learning curve and how well I'm progressing. I have numerous photos that are ready to uploading to this but I'll try not to bombard you all at once.
